Hello, readers and crafty friends
today I have two Christmas cards made with a non Christmas flowerset. This set is from the cozy comfort Retreat, so unfortunately it is not for sale on the Altenew site. These cards I made for my dear friend, she loves all those beautiful flowers, so that is how I came up with this idea. The cards I made for her are for her children, so they must be special. But the square card didn't turn out as I hoped, so this one I don't give to her, it doesn't speak to me. And I only give her cards I am happy about.
I will place it here on my blog, because I want to be open. Also a card I am not satisfied with I show. So let's go!
The flowers and foliage are unfortunately not for sale at Altenew, they are from the Cozy comfort Retreat, even as the background shape on card one. Furthermore I used for card one the Elegant Bows Embossing folder, Layered Snowflakes 2 die set and the Iridescent Crystals Gem Sparkles for some sparkle. The design paper is from my stash. 🙂
I Ink-blended the flowers and foliage with pink and red colors and for the background with the bows I used some white ink to give it some extra extra detail. I hope you like this card! I no my dear friend will be happy with it!
For the second card, the square card, I used the following products, all from Altenew:
- Perfect Poinsettias 3D Embossing Folder
- Festive Ornaments Layering Die Set
- Metallic Thread Set
- Brushed Rose Metallic Cardstock
The poinsettia Embossing folder is really a must have if you are making Christmas cards. It is so versatile. You can use it as a background, but you also can use it as the star of your card and to keep the cards easy for mass produce.
Even if the second card isn't to my liking, I hope it gave you a bit of inspiration! That even if you have just a few Christmas products, you can also use non Christmas flowers to make a beautiful card!
