A Fun Half Shaker Birthday Card with Bold Layers | Kat Scrappiness

I started with papers from the Magical Memories Paper Pad and chose different patterns from the collection so everything stays coordinated while still playful.

The card front is divided diagonally.

For the lower part I created the shaker section. Behind the acetate I added the Mouse ear sprinkles shaker parts. 

Across the diagonal line I added the layered border, also using papers from the same paper pad so the whole design stays connected.

The upper section remains calmer with patterned paper and a large yellow fishtail banner as focal layer.

For the sentiment I used the Don't Forget to Smile shadow sentiment die, but only the words Don’t Forget to Smile fit this design perfectly, so no shadow this time. I added Glossy Accents over the black sentiment to give it that beautiful shiny finish, which makes it stand out even more against the yellow banner.

The glossy finish adds a nice contrast to the matte paper layers.

To decorate the shaker edge, I added elements from the Magical Memories Craft Dies, from the ephemera pack and a few of the small mouse ear Sprinkles.

The little character at the bottom brings movement and fun to the card and helps guide the eye through the design.

Even though this card uses colors that are not naturally my own style, I enjoyed letting the products lead the mood this time!
