The Butterfly Ranunculus, the ink-blended star | Altenew | Beautiful Blossoms Challenge

Every time I sit down to create a new card, I’m reminded how grateful I am for this wonderful hobby. Cardmaking brings me so much joy, and one of the best parts is being able to share that joy with others when I send my cards. On top of that, I’ve met such an incredibly kind and supportive group of crafty friends. Thank you all for making my life richer and brighter. 🤍

Before I tell you more about my card, I want to thank everyone who joined our previous challenge. The gallery was filled with gorgeous floral creations, and seeing all your beautiful entries truly makes our day. I hope many of you will join us again this month!

For today’s card, I used almost all products from Altenew and took inspiration from the optional mood board. I rarely follow a mood board exactly, but I love using it as a starting point. This time, it was the colors that inspired me.

The beautiful Butterfly Ranunculus had to be the star of this card. I paired the flowers with subtle texture in the background using a stitched motif die and Crystal 3D Gel through a stencil. While the gel was still wet, I sprinkled it with a little glitter for extra sparkle.

To help guide the eye, I added a silver oval frame around the floral arrangement and sentiment. A few splatters and sequins finished the design and added just the right amount of shine.
