AECP class 4 Easy ink blending techniques

After a long period of silence, due to private circumstances, I am finally back. The serious health issues of my husband and the loss of a dear friend, and after that my own health issues, it took all my energy and I had to stop temporary. I started with the AECP to develop myself, to start a journey, and for me, you do that with a lot of joy and energy. After all was relatively back to normal, I had some trouble picking up where I was left. Most of my group was much further or ready and even new groups where further. But someone close to me told me, this isn't a race, it is a journey. She is so right. So back to where I left off.

Easy ink blending techniques, a course where my expectations were high. And Amy Lee didn't disappoint. On the contrary,  it was a very interesting lesson, with lots of tips and trics. There are many different ways to give a blended background more interest. Like making bubbles or bokeh on the inkblended background, the all known embossing resist technique, faux watercoloring and splattering.

I made three cards for this course because I wanted to use different methods. On the pink card I used ink blending for the background with a bit of stenciling for more interest, also the darker edge pulls your sight more to the middle of the card. The flowers are inkblended too. I tried to give them more interest by using lighter and darker purple, to give some shading. The other flowercard is a bit of a bonus. I left the background purposely white so you could see the effect of splattering really good.

But I saved the best for last, that is at least how I see it. On this card I used the embossing resist technique. I stamped with embossing ink and covered it with white embossing powder to give it a nice contrast. Then I inkblended the background, started with the lightest color. I worked my way to the darker colors, ending with the darkest color only  on the edge, again to pull the sight to the middle of the card, to the gorgeous bird. I splattered a bit of gold on the background, before I adhered the bird. I think it gave just that bit extra, together with the golden strip. I was very happy with this card and it was a nice closure to this course.

The faux watercoloring is definitely on my list for later.

I will end this blog with one last tip; Always take your time for inkblending and easy built up the layers!

Thank you for your time and your interest for this blog, I really appreciate it.
