Mini art gallery on a card; Altenew

Hello, my lovely crafty friends!

This card is a little different from what I usually make… and I have a feeling people will either absolutely love it — or politely look away and pretend they didn’t see it.

But sometimes it’s good to step outside your comfort zone, right?

For this card I used Craft Your Life: Frozen Moments and the Craft Your Life: Arched Foliage 3D Embossing Folder to create what I can only describe as… a tiny, slightly dramatic art gallery on a card.

The textured wall was made with the Arched Foliage embossing folder, and I blended the Chasing Shadows Ink Set (the greys) over it to make the wall look a bit more “real” — with depth and different stone shades. I may have enjoyed building that wall a little too much.

The frames are die cut from Brushed Silver Metallic Cardstock.
They were a bit too shiny and perfect for my taste, so I toned them down with… just black ink.

For the little artworks inside the frames, I swiped Winter Lake and Icy Water inks onto paper, added splatters with the Metallic Watercolor 14 Pan Set, and then stamped the florals with Obsidian Pigment Ink. A layer of Crystal Clear Crisp Embossing Powder gave them that subtle shine and texture.

The frames with little backgrounds I placed on the wall with foamtape,  some with thicker tape then the others.

I used the Cute Open Rose Layering Die Set for a flower in the middle frame.

The sentiment says:
A quiet mind is a powerful thing.

And honestly… I think I needed that reminder while making this card.

This layered, framed style is new for me, but I really enjoyed the process. Sometimes creating something different feels a little scary — but also freeing.
