A Soft Garden Moment | Clean & Simple with Altenew

Sometimes I need a card that feels calm.
Not too many layers, not too much thinking… just creating and letting it come together softly.

This card was inspired by the subscription workshop from @Lydia Evans, and I really leaned into that clean and simple feeling—but still in my own way, with soft layers and gentle details.

For this card I created a soft floral arrangement in a little crate, combined with a light and airy background.

Instead of using white cardstock for my die cuts, I chose a soft yellow base and soft sage base and ink blended my colors on top.
For the flowers I used warm tones from the Sun-Kissed Delights and Blushberry Bliss inks, and for the greenery the Sage Garden inks. This gives everything a softer, more natural look.

The crate was die cut from soft grey cardstock and I added some depth by ink blending with the Chasing Shadows inks.

For the background I used the Geometric Essentials circles to create a subtle layered look with very light grey tones from the Chasing Shadows.
To add a bit more interest, I stamped the leaf image inside the circle using Sagestone ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I love how it softly peeks out from behind the flowers.

I finished the card with a delicate butterfly and a few sequins for a little sparkle. The smallest sequins were placed in the centers of the flowers—one of my favorite little details.

Final Thoughts

This card was such a gentle reminder that simple can still be special.
And sometimes, that is exactly what we need 🤍
