Sometimes I love creating something soft and sweet… and this baby card was exactly that kind of project
For this slimline card I worked in gentle aqua tones, blending from light to darker and back to light again. This creates a soft flow across the background, without it becoming too heavy.
After ink blending, I added texture using the Burlap stencil. I used the same colors, but varied the pressure—some areas a bit stronger, others very light. It gives just that little extra interest without taking away the softness.
The new Hello Sweet Baby stamp set is such a joy to work with. I stamped the little cube and rattle across the background and heat embossed them in white. For some extra dimension, I stamped a few images extra on white cardstock, colored them with the same aqua tones and fussy cut them to use on top.
For the focal point, I used two heart dies from the Heart Donut Builder Craft Dies and layered the two hearts slightly over each other. The front heart holds the sentiment “welcome to the world little one” and I added a few of the extra stamped elements for a playful touch.
I also reused the tiny inner hearts and placed them back onto the design for added texture and went over them with my shimmerpen —such a fun detail to include.
Inside the card I kept everything soft and coordinated with a simple heart and a sentiment for the new parents.
To finish the card, I added a touch of shine with Glossy Accents on the little elements and a few pastel sequins.
