Hi crafty friends,
Today I’m sharing a card that truly felt like a little moment of light for me.
I made this card for the takeover challenge of #Mumu’s Paperology, where we were invited to case a beautiful design by Rumana. Her card was absolutely stunning, and it was such a joy to draw inspiration from it.
One of the main challenges was to create a card without flowers — which is definitely outside my comfort zone… but also exactly what made it so fun.
For this card, I worked with the Zero-Waste Fluttering Fantasies set ( this will come on April 8th on the market, I bought it as a subscription) , combined with the Paper Echoes Stencil and the Daydream Doodles Stencil Set.
I started with a soft pink cardstock base and created a gentle ink blended background using the Sun-Kissed Delights inks — lighter in the center and deeper toward the edges. I really love how this draws your eye inward.
Instead of splattering, I added texture using the Paper Echoes Stencil with Shimmer Relief Paste in Enchanted Gold. This gave the background a soft, glowing texture in different areas.
To build more detail, I used the small circle elements from the Daydream Doodles Stencil Set, adding subtle accents with Hazelnut ink. I also used the same stencil with Crystal 3D Gel to create extra dimension — a detail that is so beautiful in real life.
The gold frame made with the Nesting Arches Die Set, inspired by Rumana’s design. I created multiple layers but kept everything in gold to keep that elegant, cohesive look. The frames I colored with the Shimmer Relief Paste.
For the butterflies, I chose colors inspired by the florals in Rumana’s original card — translating them into soft, warm tones that really comes to life against the background. I used Golden Sunset Fresh Dye Inks and for the deeper red I used the Velvet Fresh Dye Ink.
To finish everything:
- I added a delicate sentiment
- A few Iridescent Gem Sparkles for extra shine
- And a subtle textured gold edge on the mat layer using the Shimmer Relief Paste
- Also the inside of the card have the same style
Final Thoughts
This card reminded me again how important it is to keep creating — even (or especially) when life feels a little heavy.
Sometimes a simple creative moment can bring a bit of calm, focus, and even joy.
And this card was exactly that for me.
