Hello my sweet, crafty friends,
Today I’m sharing a card I made with the beautiful new Butterfly RanuncuLayering Die Set — and I instantly fell in love with these flowers.
There is something so soft and elegant about them, and I really wanted to keep that feeling throughout the whole design.
For the background, I used the Traces of Yesterday Embossing Folder. I added color with different grey-tinted sprays and finished it .with subtle gold splatters. To bring out the details even more, I gently swiped a silver pigment ink pad over the raised areas. This gives such a beautiful, soft shine when the light hits it.
For the front panel, I chose a soft pink cardstock and ink blended it slightly darker towards the edges and lighter in the center, using the same tones as I used for the flowers. I really tried to keep my color palette calm and cohesive.
Using the Nesting Arches Die Set, I cut out three arches. I started with the middle one, then placed the left one slightly lower and the right one slightly higher to keep the layout a bit more playful and natural.
The flowers were such a joy to create. I die cut all the elements and ink blended them using tones from the Earthy Embrace and Dusty Rose Fresh Dye Inks.
For the leaves, I wanted something a little different, so instead of green I used the Chasing Shadows inks to create soft grey tones. I also added a tiny touch of silver pigment ink to the tips for a subtle shimmer.
To finish the card, I kept everything quite clean and added just a few Crystal Clear Enamel Dots.
I used the next products of Altenew:

Final Thoughts
This card was all about keeping things soft — in color, in texture, and in the overall feeling.
Sometimes that’s exactly what I need while creating… something calm and gentle.
And these flowers were perfect for that.
With love,
Angelique
