Hello, my crafty friends,
Today I’m sharing a card where I really leaned into soft colors and lots of ink blending — something I always enjoy doing.
For this card, I worked with the beautiful Build a Garden Garland Grace and Build a Garden Marigold Butterflies sets. I love how these sets combine florals and butterflies so effortlessly.
I started with the background, using a dark purple tone cardstock. To add a bit more interest, I created a subtle pattern with the Lattice Blossoms Stencil and Shimmer Relief Paste in the color Amethyst. It gives just the right amount of shine without overpowering the design.
The florals are all ink blended using a mix of the Moonlit Twilight, Blushberry Bliss, Coastal Mist, Mystic Lake, and Mid Yellow Fresh Dye Inks. I really enjoy building up the colors slowly to create those soft transitions.
For the larger flower, I kept the tones very gentle and slightly dreamy, blending soft purples into pinks. The smaller florals add a bit more brightness, which helps balance the overall composition.
I added a butterfly for a light and elegant touch — I love how it brings movement to the card. I used the same colors to keep that softness.
The sentiment was created using the Warm and Cozy Sentiments Die Set, which fits perfectly with the softness of the design. Unfortunately this set isn't for sale, I got it with the Cozy Comfort Retreat of 2025.
To finish everything, I added a few Stellar Sequins in Twinkling Pink for a subtle sparkle.
I used the next products:
