Hello my lovely crafty friends,
Yesterday I had the great pleasure of joining the AECP exam workshop by @Carol Pope, and what a lovely workshop it was. Carol did such a wonderful job guiding us through every step and above all: congratulations to Carol for finishing her AECP journey! That is truly something to celebrate!
During the workshop we created more than just a card — we also made a matching bookmark, decorated the envelope, and added details to the inside of the card. I always enjoy it when a project becomes a complete little set, because it gives everything that extra thoughtful touch.
For my project I worked with several beautiful Altenew products:
I used the Build a Garden Blooming Delight as the main floral focus, combined with the sentiment from CYL Project Kit Marigold Butterflies for the front of the card. For the bookmark I chose a sentiment from the CYL Project Kit Florescence, and I used the Nesting Oval Dies to create the elegant shape for the sentiment on the bookmark.
For the colours I stayed in warm soft tones and worked with Dessert Dreams, Sun Kissed Delight, Coastal Mist and Terracotta, all Fresh Dye Inks. These shades gave the florals a gentle warmth that felt perfect for this project. Colors like orange and yellow were never a favorite of mine, but since I use those beautiful Florals of Altenew for my cardmaking, I really started to appreciate these colors. 🧡
To add a little extra shine, I used Shimmer Relief Paste in Mayan Gold and finished everything with a few Crystal Clear Enamel Dots.
Final thoughts
I love that the same floral image returns throughout the full set — on the card, inside the card, on the bookmark and on the envelope — which makes everything feel connected and complete.
Projects like this always remind me how much joy there is in combining different elements into one harmonious whole.
